Eight-year-old Ukasha has drug-resistant typhoid. Typhoid patients normally start to recover in two to three days after taking antibiotics. But Ukasha had been stuck in bed for months with a fever and headache.

Other children in the village have similar symptoms and the boys’ fathers are concerned that the disease is in the school’s water supply. Both boys have caught other illnesses like dengue too.
