Rehmet, who had sepsis, had a slim chance of survival. She was born a month early with health complications. In a race against time, her only chance of survival was the antibiotic meropenem (known as a “last-resort” drug due to its importance in treating severe infections). But her family couldn’t afford them. Rehmet was only a few weeks old when she died.
